Last November I wrote about Streaming Media West and the constantly evolving landscape of the digital media space. This year while attending Streaming Media East at the New York Hilton, I was struck again by how much has changed (and how much is changing) in the few years online video has existed. Some booths were fully equipped with green screens and elaborate mixing boards for automatic media production, while other vendors demoed their product while video was being livestreamed through a plastic window on the back of their jacket. The rate and pace that technology is advancing, both from the software and hardware side, is astounding. Throw in a hoverboard and a Delorean and you’ve got yourself a scene from Back to the Future 2.
In between seeing all of this stunning new technology we were honored and thrilled to talk to budding entrepreneurs and digital media enthusiasts, showing them our platform and discussing where the industry is headed. We demoed our new image and audio platforms, discussed our open video framework and APIs, and let our customers’ success stories guide the discussion. And in between it all we shared a bottle of French wine with our friends over at Mixmoov (who were nice enough to bring a bottle across the ocean) while enjoying some of the first nice weather we’ve had here in New York. We’re very fortunate to have amazing customers and integrators who continue to push the boundaries of what is possible with online media.
It was certainly a busy week for us here at Twistage, and we came back with plenty of work stacked up. As always we’re rolling out new releases every two weeks, and rest assured we’ll get back to reporting on them next release as soon as the Streaming Media bump calms down.
